It was over pretty quickly. The herring gull eyed the turkey-and-mayo sandwich Pamelia was eating as she and Margaret sat on the rocks near Thunder Hole in Acadia National Park. Pamelia knew not to feed the animals in the park. But the gull edged closer. And closer. The gull then... jumped... into... Pamelia's... lap. And got the last bite of crust. And then took a drink of water from a nearby rain puddle and bid Pamelia and Margaret adieu.
The gull-op-ing gourmet enjoyed his meal-with-a-view, then flew off in search of another Acadia diner.
