These deer were gamboling down the beach just a few hundred yards fr… — We wanted to give you first-time visitors a glimpse of Seal Harbor, Maine (home to one of The Naturalist's Notebook spaces), so here's a scene Craig photographed earlier this year. These deer were gamboling down the beach just a few hundred yards from the Notebook, near an entrance to Acadia National Park. It was such an unusual scene that the photo was picked up and published by the Mount Desert Islander newspaper (which by the way is the best source for MDI news if you're planning a visit to Acadia).
