May 2009: Kids' Art Show to Test the Space

We Invited Local Schools to Show Nature Art Done By Kids and Their Teachers

A few weeks before officially opening The Naturalist's Notebook, we put on a nature art show in the Seal Harbor space with students and teachers from the elementary schools and high school on Mount Desert Island. The show was curated by high-school senior Jessica Rothenheber (it was her senior project, on which Pamelia was mentoring her) and recent Middlebury College graduates Anne Mittnacht and Pat Johnson, who were helping us launch the Notebook that summer. Everyone loved it and when it was over, we hurried to set up the Notebook itself for its opening season.
